Mahapadav Final Day: Sea of Women Workers at Parliament Street in Delhi-November 11

The morning of 11th November saw a sea of women workers thronging the heart of the city. From ASHA workers to Anganwadi workers, women from various streams of work came together at Parliament Street, urging the government to give them better wages and incentives for providing essential health and education services to the masses. From the beginning of the mahapadav to its final day, the capital has seen over one lakh workers from across country protesting against Modi govt’s anti-people policies. The workers distress is evident as they are determined to keep fighting till they achieve their fundamental rights.

Tapan Sen talks about the massive mobilisation of workers on the final day of the mahapadav in Delhi. He tells Newsclick that the workers struggle is not ending with this movement, and about how it will materialise in the future. He also speaks about the reasons why the media is blacking out this mass sit-in happening in the heart of Delhi.
