The union budget 2015:
Pro-corporate anti-farmer barrage
1st March 2015

The first union budget of the Modi government has exposed the true colour of
BJP led rule. The finance minister came out in the open with his aim of cutting down the
strength of the farming population to 20%. No wonder that his provisions for rural
growth dwindled substantially.
The budget has abolished wealth tax. It has reduced corporate tax by 5%.
At the same time, has made the service tax reach 14%.
Its allocation plans also has forsaken the downtrodden as it has shortened
the sub-plans  for tribal people and scheduled castes.
The budget clearly stands for increased sell out of PSUs as it has Rs 70,000 crore
expectation from disinvestment. Its defence expenditure proposal has topped up by 10.95%
reaching 2.46 lakh. This has to be read along with the Modi government’s plan of
FDI in the defence sector.
All together , this union budget is Pro-corporate and anti-farmer in content.
It  has accelerated the deeds of the previous UPA government following
its foot steps of implementation of Imperialist Globalization policies in greater pace.
