Comrade Koothakkudi Shanmugam Passed Away


Comrade Koothakkudi Shanmugam started his political life holding the red banner of the communist party in the 1930s under the leadership of comrade AKG. From then onwards he fought through the fierce battles of Anti-feudal and Anti-imperialist struggles that the communist party waged up to 1950s. Many of these struggles were fought in the form of armed struggle even. His long adherence to communist belief held him onto the red banner and hence he formed the LENINIST PARTY even after coming out of the UCPI.His fraternity with our party and his valuable participation in the ‘SALT STRUGGLE CONVENTION’ that we organized at Calicut; and, later in the parliament march that we conducted were memorable occasions of camaraderie.
We dip our flag in final salute to COMRADE KOOTHAKKUDI SHANMUGAM with immeasurable grief as he has passed away on 15th march 2015 leaving his heritage. We share the grief of his family and comrades in fraternal bond.
