OBSERVE BLACK DAY

AGAINST KILLING OF DALITS

AND OPPRESSION UNLEASHED UPON

THEM

Acts of Police repression and firing upon agitating Dalits in the states of Madyapradesh, Rajasthan, UP, Bihar, jharkhand and Gujarat which resulted the killing of several people, massive lati-charge and arrests that had targeted thousands prove conscious and determined offensive against the Dalits from the part of the police.
The gravity of this move is evident as in Rajasthan, the police action went along with the notorious Karni Sena's attack upon the protesting Dalits who were agitating on 2nd April as part of the Bharat Bandh called for by Dalit organisation against the dilution of the SCs/STs (Prevention of Atrocities) Act due to Supreme Court ruling as part of a recent judgement.
The true colour of the BJP led governments of these states had come out as the Army was deployed in Bhind in MP, paramilitary was widely deployed in MP and UP, curfew was clamped and internet was suspended.
In the above said background, it is quite natural that the governmental inquiry of these actions of repressions can not be expected to be prudent and impartial beyond doubts.

So, we demand that:

(1) All the detained must be released ,

(2) All the cases charged against them be quashed,

(3) A thorough and transparent inquiry by parliament committee be done without any delay,

(4) Active steps of redressal of losses of the families of the matyrs be done immediately inclusive of compensations.

We reiterate our demand to the Modi Government to pursue the review petition with sincerity to the final and to undertake legislative remedy if necessary to nullify the dilution of the SCs/STs (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
We call for observing All India Black Day on 9th April 2018 and call upon the secular and democratic forces to rally in fraternal action to defend the struggling Dalits and
to fight the let-loose police Raj.
