COMMUNIST PARTY OF INDIA (MARXIST LENINIST) RED FLAG
CENTRAL COMMITTEE
                                                                             Date 11-12-2018
                                                        Press Statement
                                                               Elections to legislative assemblies
The results of elections to five legislative assemblies in the States of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram have in general brought a strong indication that the BJP, the ruling party at the centre, is losing by all means. The BJP is ousted from power in three major Hindi speaking states in the very heartland of the central and north India. Its defeat in Chatisgarh is so devastating as its chief minister himself had to struggle very hard to scrape through. It could not make any considerable gain in either Telangana or Mizoram that way.
The communal frenzy that the Sangh parivar whipped up by way of cow-vigilante lynching’s cold blooded assassinations of secular democratic intellectuals, malicious interventions to subvert the constitutional institutions such as the Reserve Bank of India, CBI, Central Vigilance Commission, and the election commission even, did not help it to facilitate the perpetual communal polarization that it was trying to make in a pan-Indian scale. Its last ditch attempt to bring in the ghost of build-Ram-Temple issue also did not make any demarcate effect. ‌Instead, the devastation of the national economy caused by Modi Raj that accelerated the anti-people economic policies as part of Liberalisation- Privatisation- Globalisation reforms that were dictated by IMF-WB-WTO institutions of Imperialist Finance Capital created severe crisis to social life of the toiling people such as peasants and workers with an emphasis to the rural working class and Petit Peasant. This has ignited their wrath. The peasants look to have turned from the suicide point to a fighting mode as evident from a number of marches that class did to Mumbai and DELHI. Further, its  implementation of GST for the corporates flouting federalism, demonetization to erode the unorganized sector increased sell out of PSUs, Malya - Nirav Modi - Rafael scam like skeletons of corruption and nepotism added to the popular anger in writing their verdict against the saffron abettors of the imperialist design to unmake the Republic
.                           It is notable that the Congress promised the farmers that it shall write of debt and declare minimum support price for paddy-like crops in case it gets elected. Though it does not look to have expressed any serious policy shift from its committed line of LPG, congress's move to render promises to farmers stood in stark contrast with the Modi Raj's refusal to even address the demand for loan waiver even when the polling was going on in various states. ‌So, this verdict is clear. It comes from the peasants, the 'Annadatas' the breadwinners of India, that the communal fascists will not be allowed to erase them. It is now coming in a big way to erase Modi Raj in the parliament elections in 2019, for which the nation is gearing up.
With crumbling banks and the RBI governor himself being replaced with puppets, judges being shown the way to write favorable judgements and open dislike to the Constitution of the country, Modi Raj is not in a path of introspection. It is the duty of the responsible political forces to complete the task of its thorough ouster in 2019 and the ascendancy of a rule with clear alternative policies for the people, making path breaking move qualitatively for democratic and secular values with the core content of socialism as the Constitution heralds. For such duty bounded task the Left forces should rally to lead the workers, peasants and all the toiling masses in the fight for such alternative and shall gain mature tactical wisdom to unite with all the democratic forces hinged on to the said content of alternative.
